Lesson 14 of 15

Connect it to your email

Pasting from your inbox gets old. A connector lets the assistant look for itself.

  1. A bridge you sign in to

A connector links the assistant to Gmail, Google Calendar, or Google Drive. You click, sign in, and allow it. After that it can look things up without you pasting.

  2. What you get

Ask “What did the Hendersons say about the deposit?” or “What is on my calendar Thursday?” It finds the answer.

  3. The catch

It can see everything you can: every customer email, every file in your Drive. Whatever it reads goes into the chat, like something you pasted.

  4. Start with one

Connect your calendar first and use it for a week. You can switch a connector off in your assistant’s settings whenever you like.

  5. Hold off on job software

Wait to connect Jobber or QuickBooks until your prompts work and your habits stick. They hold customer names, addresses, and money.

Try it now

Start with your calendar, not your inbox: connect only it, from your assistant’s settings. Then paste the prompt below and check the answer against your real calendar.

Copy this prompt

Paste this after you connect your calendar.

Look at my calendar for next week. Tell me which days are most booked and the two best openings for a one-hour job. Use only what is on my calendar. If you cannot see it, say so.

Now you know

A connector is a signed-in bridge. It sees what you see, so add one at a time.

Privacy: A connected inbox holds customers’ names, addresses, and payments. Start with your calendar, and read “Know what’s safe to paste” first.
