Hermes sets itself up and can stay local

Hermes can set itself up with no key and run on your computer, and Gemini adds a Task button.

AI helpers that work for you

AI that remembers, keeps working after you close it, and acts in your apps.

Hermes Agent

  • Hermes opens a setup chat and can stay local

The October 13 release says a new desktop install opens a setup chat on a free trial, with no key, and Hermes can run models on your computer with nothing leaving it. Skip setup ends the chat, and local models start in Settings under Providers, then Local Models.

  • The Hermes Store app could stick on Connecting

The October 15 release says an earlier build was the wrong one, and the Microsoft Store app could stick on Connecting, so update through the Store. Sessions from that bad build cannot be deleted in this release.

Gemini

  • Gemini puts a Task button on the phone home screen

One outside report on October 14 says Gemini Spark is a Task button on the phone app's home screen, and chats and tasks share one list. The report says this is live on iOS and Android, and the report has not seen it on the web.

Genspark

  • Genspark can answer inside chats you already use

Genspark's help page, updated October 14, says you can message it in iMessage, WhatsApp, LINE, Telegram, or Slack and get the result in that same chat. The page says iMessage and WhatsApp are in the rollout, and an account that does not see them is not in it yet.

OpenClaw

  • An OpenClaw cleanup keeps saved sign-ins

The 2026.10.3 notes say one cleanup no longer throws away saved sign-ins when an older sign-in file cannot be read. Sign-ins that were already removed are not put back.

For builders

Coding helpers for anyone building their own tools, or paying someone who does.

Codex

  • An older model leaves Codex for ChatGPT sign-in

On October 14, the ChatGPT changelog says one model retires from Codex for people signed in with ChatGPT. Sessions that sign in with a key are not affected, and anything still set to that model needs a replacement.
