What it does

A chat assistant for writing, research, and quick recaps, with live search of the web and of X. It also makes images and video, talks by voice, and can run a job on a schedule; running one when an email arrives needs SuperGrok.

Who makes it

SpaceXAI LLC, formerly xAI, Austin, Texas. SpaceX bought xAI in February 2026.

What it costs

Free; SuperGrok $30 a month; SuperGrok Plus $100. The Lite and Heavy prices aren’t shown to signed-out visitors. Business is $30 per person a month. Paid plans share a weekly allowance; extra credits start at $5.

Where your data goes

On personal plans, SpaceXAI may train on your chats unless you switch off “Improve the model” in Settings, Data Controls. Business plans aren’t used for training. Its terms make you responsible for any action it takes for you.

What you need first

An account, age 13 or older (under 18 with a parent’s okay), on the web, iPhone, or Android. Which plans you can buy depends on where you are.

Where it stands

Long-running: announced November 3, 2023. Its Grok Bot helper is in beta since August 2026.

Who it suits

Good fit if you want an assistant that searches the live web and X while it writes.

Not a fit if you need something to answer the shop phone; it doesn’t.
