You’ll hear “new model” every few months. Here’s what it means for your quotes and texts: usually, nothing you need to do.
The app and the engine
ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Grok are apps: the screen you type into. Inside each one is a model, the engine that writes the words.
Engines get swapped often
The makers release new engines several times a year, and the app moves to them without you doing anything. Your chats and settings stay where they were.
Quick engines and thinking engines
Most apps offer a fast engine for short jobs and a slower one that thinks longer, for harder jobs like checking a long quote. Paid plans usually get more of the slower one.
You rarely need to choose
The standard engine is fine for texts, emails, and quote wording. Switch only when an answer on a hard job comes back sloppy.
