Turn meeting notes into actions

An action list: who does what, by when, and what’s still open.

Step-by-step walkthrough

  1. Write down what happened in the meeting

Write the decisions, actions, who said they would do each, and any deadlines. Order does not matter.

  2. Note what is still open

Mark anything still open: a question, a deferred decision, or an action with no owner.

  3. Open your assistant

Open the assistant you already use. A free plan works.

  4. Paste the prompt, then your notes

Paste the prompt below, then your meeting notes, and press enter.

  5. Confirm and share

Confirm each action was actually agreed — not implied. Share it so everyone has the same list.

Anyone who leaves a meeting with a page of notes that never becomes a list anyone works from.

Works with any AI assistant.

Actions without an owner and a date are mostly not done. The next meeting spends the first fifteen minutes figuring out why.

What the fix looks like

You paste your notes. You get each action with an owner and a date, plus a list of what is still unresolved.

Copy this prompt

Copy this, paste it in, then paste your meeting notes underneath.

Extract a confirmed action register from the meeting notes I give you below. Format it as two sections: (1) Confirmed actions — each with the action, owner (by role if names are sensitive), due date or timeframe, and any dependency. (2) Unresolved items — decisions or tasks that were raised but not confirmed. Only include actions that were explicitly agreed to in the meeting — do not infer or add items that were not mentioned. Where an owner or deadline is missing, write [CONFIRM] rather than guessing. Here are the meeting notes:
